With a newborn and a one year old in the house, this past year has brought with it our fair share of nappy rash. We have used many different types of nappy rash creams including the original Sudocrem, which has proven effective on many occasions. So when we were offered the chance to try out Sudocrem Care & Protect, I was excited to see whether it would not only clear any nappy rash, but also prevent it from returning.
Sudocrem Care & Protect offers triple protection to our little munchkins. Firstly, it creates a barrier between our baby’s skin and the harsh chemicals that sit in their nappies when they wee and poo. Secondly, as SC&P contains Vitamin E and Pro Vitamin B5, it helps to keep our babies skin moisturised and healthy. Finally, as SC&P creates a barrier on our baby’s skin, this also helps to prevent any infections manifesting.
So how did we get on?
- Less is definitely more with this product. In comparison to the original Sudocrem, SC&P is much thinner, therefore it spreads much further. The tube we were sent is continuing to last as a little bit of cream goes such a long way.
- After just one application of Sudocrem Care & Protect on my newborn I noticed that the redness on her bottom was already reduced. She appeared more comfortable and more content almost straight away, this is a definite plus point.
- Sudocrem Care & Protect has a lovely, non-offensive fragrance. After using this cream my little munchkins smell as fresh as daisies!
- Most importantly since we started using this product any soreness that my girls had has cleared, and has so far not returned.
After a little research, I found via the Boots website that SC&P retails at £4.29 for a 30g tube. In comparison to the original Sudocrem, which retails at £2.99 for a 125g pot, this is a little expensive. However, seeing as I have found this cream to be so effective and considering that it does go such a long way, I feel it may be worth the extra spend in future.
*We were sent a tube of SC&P, free of charge for the purpose of this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
