Welcome to my new series Thankful Thursdays! We all love our children we know that, but we are also not afraid to have a good whine and a moan about how difficult this parenting lark can be. So on that note I have decided that however good or indeed bad my week has been, on a Thursday I will take a little time to reflect on what I have been thankful for over the previous few days!
So this week I am starting with sleep! This sounds like such a simple thing, something we all get at some point, even if it is broken and littered with numerous night feeds! I think at one point or another every parent gets so tired, more than they ever thought was possible. Even though we still function and do our best for our little people, sometimes we just need to catch up on those Z’s!
This week Hubs has been off for three whole days straight, he saves lives for a living so is constantly on shift work not necessarily in any given pattern. So three days straight was an absolute family time winner this week. Being the sterling chap he is, Hubs said he would do all of the night feeds meaning I have just had three nights sleep! Hallelujah!
Parenting and life in general is always much more of a breeze when you have had your sleep. After my three nights rest I feel like I am refreshed and ready to go! Ok, maybe that’s a tad enthusiastic, I do still have two children ten and a half months apart, but I’m not completely knackered and that I love!
So that’s it for this week’s Thankful Thursdays folks! I am thankful for sleep, and thankful that I married such a good egg, who will get up in the night so I don’t have to!
